The Process: Start To Finish

Step 1: Getting a quote:

Drawing1a. Create Drawings

Creating drawings can be as simple as drawing the shape of your counters and writing the measurements in inches. The important details that our sales staff will need to have in order to achieve accurate pricing are the following:

  • Edges that need to be polished marked
  • Locations that will require slab backsplash marked
  • Sink locations (we do not need exact sink location or sink size, this just helps to know where possible seams could be)

These drawings can be sent to us by fax (503-648-1730), email: elitegraniteandmarble@gmail.com, or dropped off at our location (1299 NE 25th Ave. Hillsboro, OR 97124).

Step 1b

Select Stone1b. Selecting a Stone

Elite works with all natural stones such as Granite, Marble, Soapstone, Travertine, and Limestone, we also work with Quartz. Slab is available in two different thicknesses:

  • 2cm stone is ¾" thick and requires (5/8)" plywood sub deck
  • 3cm stone is 1 ¼" thick and does not require any plywood decking except recessed in the sink area for under mounting sinks.

Once you have determined what type of stone and thickness you would like, you may move on to selecting a color. You may chose material from our stock or from any local stone suppliers.

We have a PDF download for you to view the various edge styles. Download PDF file.

Step1D

1d. Selecting a backsplash

Elite can fabricate any custom height for slab backsplash. Standard splash height is around 4". Elite can also quote you full height slab backsplash. Many customers are now choosing to use decorative tile for backsplash to accent the colors in the granite. Elite does not install tile but has partnered up with several high quality tile installers and can help you find the right tile and get a quote. Please speak with your sales representative or come visit our showroom to find out all the options for backsplash.

Step1E

Sink1e. Select a Sink

Elite currently stocks over 20 different styles of sinks ranging from high quality stainless steel kitchen sinks to solid granite vessel sinks. Come by our showroom to see our sinks displayed. In our showroom we have our most popular sinks on display and have literature on all our sinks & faucets we offer. You are also always welcome to purchase your own sink and fixtures.

Step 2

SignStep 2: Signing a Contract

  • Once all the above decisions have been made and you have received your quote, we can then put together a contract for you.
  • Once we have a signed contract and a 50% deposit we can proceed with scheduling
Step 3

Step 3: Scheduling the Template

  • Once we receive the sign contract and deposit we will set up a date to come out to template your project, in order to complete the template we ask that either the contractor or homeowner is present for questions and to make all final decisions. Please have all sinks, faucets and your range on site for the template.
  • If you prefer, after templates have been made you can come out and do a template layout with one of our staff members. This is highly recommended for colors with lots of movement.
  • At this time we will give you a tentative install date, it will be about a week and a half to two weeks until your install. Again we request that either the contractor or homeowner be present at the beginning of install.

Step 4

Step 4: Installation

Here are some photos illustrating what a typical installation looks like. Come visit our showroom to go over in detail what to expect on the install and let us know any special requests you may have.
